Shane Davis (Canisius) and the Golden Eagles gave themselves some breathing room on Tuesday night in Amsterdam, as a three-game lead in the Eastern Division standings was earned after a 5-2 win. Davis (5-0, 0.33) remains perfect on the year in eight total starts and has now allowed only two earned runs in 54 innings pitched.
The Golden Eagles are now 3-4 against the Mohawks on the season.
Glens Falls rode a Jonathan White (Vanderbilt) two-run single in the top of the third inning to take the lead for good. White was also hit by a pitch and finished the day 1-for-3.
Todd Brazeal (South Florida) clouted his first homer of the season.
Chad Stang (Midland) extended his 15-game hitting streak with a lead-off infield single.
Kody Johnson (Pima CC) went 3-for-5 on the day with a run-scoring single and a run-scoring double. Curt Courtwright (Missouri State), 2-for-4, also doubled and scored a run.
