Seven home runs marked this afternoon's contest between the Golden Eagles and the Bombers. Jeff Bercume (Merrimack) had two of those round-trippers and added another hit and a diving catch in the ninth inning to rob Scott Lawson (Miami) of a base hit. The win is the second of the season for the Bombers against Glens Falls. Bennington is now 2-13 against the Golden Eagles all-time.
Bercume's three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning off of Ricky Anaya (Florida Atlantic) put the Bombers on top by a score of 10-7. Anaya was charged with the loss.
The Bombers have scored their second wild-pitch run on the day to even the score at 7-7 in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Stefen Romero (Pima CC) provided Glens Falls with the early offense with a home-run to give the green and yellow a one-run advantage. Tristan Hobbes (Eastern Connecticut St) tied the game with a solo homer off Golden Eagles starter Scott Denault (San Diego) in the third. Joey Bergmann (Charleston) added a three-run homer in the inning.
Kody Johnson (Pima CC) followed a fourth-inning leadoff triple by Romero with a two-run homer to cut the Bombers lead to only one.
